What you are buying

A game more than a companion. Collectible cards, unlockable scenes, relationships that level up: Talkie wraps its AI characters in gacha mechanics. The art direction is the most polished in the ranking and the first few days are genuinely fun.

The number one complaint in 2026

Video ads of 40 to 50 seconds, triggered after time limits. That is not us talking, it is the most common criticism of the free version this year. On an app whose whole appeal is pacing, it is a deal-breaker.

The gacha is degrading

The system is buggy: pop-ups announce cards ready in five minutes that never arrive. And Event-Limited Gems became central in 2026, a time-limited currency that installs deliberate FOMO pressure.

A telling sign: entire articles now exist about Talkie alternatives “when you are done with the gacha”.

Memory

Companions forget your name mid-sentence. This is not an isolated bug we are passing along as filler, it is the common experience testers describe.

Adult content

A strict and, worse, inconsistent filter: the same phrasing passes one day and blocks the next. It tightened through 2025 and 2026, with bans issued without clear warning. The gap between that and the highly suggestive art direction makes for a genuinely frustrating experience. If the adult register matters to you, this is not the place.

A word on support

Reports left unanswered, including from paying content creators. Worth knowing if you plan to invest in the platform.

Verdict

The most entertaining app in the ranking for a week, and the most irritating after a month. Take it as a mobile game, not as a companion.
