The surprise of the ranking
We had it filed near the bottom. That was wrong: after a week of use, Paradot has the best memory system of any AI companion app. The examples are concrete: it holds on to a dislike of coriander, a dog’s name, a Spanish course, and folds them back in naturally days later.
Its memory is also inspectable and correctable, which no competitor offers. You see what was retained, and you fix it. We put six apps through a four-day memory test to separate a real fact store from a wider context window, and this is the distinction most pricing pages blur.

The flip side of that memory
It hallucinates. Paradot sometimes invents details that were never shared, and delivers them with confidence. That is the price of a memory this active, and it is a recurring complaint.
The price, do not miss it
$39.99 a year, about $3.33 a month. That is the cheapest subscription in the whole ranking by a distance. At that price the trade-off changes shape.
Does Paradot allow NSFW content?
Not what this product is for. Paradot is built for reflective, journal-like conversation, and the model steers back to that ground as soon as things turn intimate. No hard blocks, but no opening either. On a site about how much adult freedom you actually get, let us be blunt: look elsewhere if that is what you want.
Push toward sex and the companion changes the subject to your day or your mood instead, gently but every single time, there is no toggle or paid tier that unlocks anything past that.
What stays weak
Images. The Dream Avatar tool exists but produces unreliable results. Do not count on it.
Engineering. Slow or buggy app, occasionally truncated replies. The team is small and the release cadence shows it.
Verdict
The best value in the ranking if you want to think out loud with an AI that knows you. The worst possible choice if you want visuals or immersive scenes.
