Infatuated.AI, formerly GirlfriendGPT

If you came looking for GirlfriendGPT, you’re in the right place: it’s the same app under a new name. girlfriendgpt.ai now 301-redirects to infatuated.ai, observed in August 2026. Same product, same community library, same team.

Comparisons still writing about “GirlFriend GPT” are describing a brand that no longer exists, usually without having checked. The affiliate network does still run under the old banner, so depending on the link you follow you can land on two different skins of the same service.

The rename also settles an oddity. The app already treated male companions as a first-class use case, which its old name contradicted every time you said it out loud.

A second redesign nobody has documented

The rename isn’t the only surprise. Since our first pass, the site has been rebuilt from the ground up: new logo, new navigation, new pricing system. The old forum-style community interface is gone.

And so is the number everyone still quotes alongside it. Comparisons, ours included until now, cited “over 25,000 community-built characters” and “more than 2 million users”. That figure no longer matches anything. As of 31 August 2026, the Explore tab shows 234 characters total: 135 Girls, 34 Guys, 49 Anime, 16 Trans. An official, filterable catalogue, not an open marketplace. Discover, which used to look like a community publishing space, is now a gallery of renders “shared by fans” built around the official characters: you browse, you no longer post anything of your own.

Infatuated.AI’s current catalogue: 234 characters split across Girls, Guys, Anime and Trans

Not necessarily a downgrade: a tighter catalogue can also mean fewer abandoned or half-finished characters. But if you came for the library size touted elsewhere, that argument no longer holds.

What you’re buying with Infatuated.AI

A platform for romantic and adult roleplay whose real distinguishing feature still holds: it treats male, female, anime and trans companions as equally first-class, where almost the entire market addresses a straight male audience only and stops there. The Guys (34 characters) and Trans (16) categories occupy real shelf space in the catalogue, not a box ticked for appearances.

Building a character on Infatuated.AI

Character creation runs on four layers you actually control: appearance (face, hair, body type, style), personality traits (from sweet and shy to dominant and sarcastic), communication style (short punchy replies versus longer roleplay-format messages), and relationship dynamic (romantic companion, teasing flirt, or emotionally supportive partner). That’s a genuinely structured approach, not a single vibe slider.

What changed is the mechanism behind it. Building a character now costs 25 tokens, drawn from your monthly allowance just like an image or a video. Designing your companion is no longer a subscriber’s right, it’s a purchase like any other.

Infatuated.AI’s two creation paths: build a character or generate standalone images

The strange thing about Infatuated.AI’s reviews

On this app, the specialist press flatly contradicts itself, and that’s instructive.

Some sites claim it offers “the best long-term memory system tested on an AI girlfriend app”, able to recall conversations from weeks back.

Others write the exact opposite: “with a Premium account the underlying model feels inferior, and memory is so weak that the experience becomes frustrating after only 15 to 20 messages”.

Both can’t be true. The glowing reviews read like affiliate copy, the critical ones like lived experience. Make of that what you will, but keep it in mind when you read other comparisons of this app.

Settle it yourself, it takes a week. Memory can’t be judged in one session: drop a trivial detail on day one (a dinner you burnt, a difficult colleague), never repeat it, come back five days later. The good sign isn’t that she recites the detail back, it’s that she works it into a joke or a question on her own. An AI that calls back your jokes has memory; an AI that asks your name again doesn’t.

Do it on the free tier before paying: the harshest criticism targets the model served to paid accounts, so the moment to watch is the upgrade, not the trial.

Adult content: less clear-cut than advertised

The app used to present itself as fully uncensored. Its own FAQ gives it away: among what the paid plan unlocks sits, in plain text, “unfiltered character AI chat”. You don’t get it by default. The free tier filters, and unlocking costs money.

That’s exactly the distinction this comparison treats as central elsewhere (see the Nemora and Lovescape reviews): a model that refuses nothing by nature, versus one whose filter only lifts at checkout. On that basis, we’re reclassifying Infatuated.AI from “uncensored” to “filtered”: not a moral downgrade, just an adjustment to what the company writes in its own FAQ.

One thing still holds: when the filter does lift, it lifts for male characters as much as female ones, still rare on this market. Several uncensored rivals turn prudish the moment you flip the gender or the pairing; here the explicit register stays in tune on both sides.

That’s precisely what makes it this ranking’s benchmark for a dominant/submissive/switch dynamic, including on a male companion, covered in our guide to the best AI girlfriend for BDSM.

The technical flaw everyone agrees on

Images don’t preserve the character’s appearance from one render to the next. Generate three visuals, get three different people. On an app sold on attachment, that’s a real problem, and it undercuts the four-layer character builder: you can define her precisely and still watch her face drift the moment you ask for a new scene.

This finding predates the redesign and we haven’t retested it since. Check it yourself on the free tier before committing to an annual plan: generate the same character three times in a row and compare.

Pricing, fully overhauled

Gone are the round-dollar Pro/Elite tiers: three plans now run on a monthly token allowance, a system we hadn’t documented on our previous pass.

Plan Monthly price Tokens/month Billed
1 month $9.99 100 $9.99
3 months $7.99 150 $23.97
12 months $6.99 175 $83.88

Infatuated.AI’s current pricing grid: three plans with a monthly token allowance

Every action carries a published token cost, a welcome change from the opacity we flag on other apps in this ranking: message sent, 1 token; image in chat, 3; voice call, 5; one-click video, 10; building a character, 25; image-to-video, 20 to 25 depending on length; “ultra” video, up to 70.

One thing stays unclear. The FAQ promises paid subscribers “unlimited messaging”, yet the token table charges 1 token per message sent without distinguishing subscribers from non-subscribers. Neither page settles whether text turns genuinely free once you subscribe, or still draws from the same pool. Check this with your own account before committing to the annual plan.

Top-up packs exist outside the subscription: 150 tokens for $10.50, 200 for $11.90 (down from $14), 500 for $26.25 (down from $35).

Verdict

Still one of the few serious picks if you want a male or LGBTQ+ companion treated as seriously as a female one, but with a far smaller catalogue than advertised elsewhere (234 characters, not 25,000) and uncensored content that now has to be earned at a price rather than handed over by default. The entry price, on the other hand, has become one of the lowest in the ranking, and the token grid has the merit of being public. Try the free tier to judge the filter yourself before paying.
